The Sea of Life

Friedrich Nietzsche - "Zeus did not want man to throw his life away, no matter how much the other evils might torment him, but rather to go on letting himself be tormented anew. To that end, he gives man hope. In truth, it is the most evil of evils because it prolongs man's torment."

All men dream, all dreams, just as equal, but ultimately it is the current of life that decides whether or not they come true...

I assume they float in murky waters, either sinking, swimming, drifting off, dying, or rising to the surface.

So shouldn't we, oh shouldn't we, throw our hopes into the ocean.

  1. Lol Zeus was evil, contrary to how he is perceived these days. He punished people because he didn't like them or disobeyed him, whether he was right or not. He usually made a very painful, torturing punishment that would last forever. That's where the whole idea of eternal damnation in hell came from when the Romans rewrote Jesus' talk about Reincarnation to "Hell".

Er...excuse my ignorance (I grew up in a Roman Catholic Church) but what exactly do you mean by that?

I assume your saying that Jesus never meant for eternal damnation...I remember asking my pastor a year or two back, If god loves us all and is all forgiving, then why can I face an eternity of suffering for a few sins? He never really answered that one...

  5. I don't do no religion. I am a strict truth seeker and spiritualist. I looked into it. I find religion, personally, to be crap. In many ways for many reasons. Not being insulting to you. Just saying. I have a spiritual blog too. amilius4.blogspot.com . i found greater truth in spirituality and eastern traditions. i hope not to offend you though.

  6. There's just too much crap man. And Religious people are too close minded. I am open minded to everything. It is very foolish to be close minded.

  7. It's okay, I'm not a christian...It's just to get married in a church you need to get confirmed, so I had to take religous ed classes as a kid.

People usually describe my "religous" or rather philosophical belief(s) as being nihilistic, although I generally just consider myself a post-modernist.
